The Inspiration Challenge

By creating your quilt with fabric from the Inspiration Collection, you are increasing the donation to ovarian cancer research!

Our challenge is without prizes,
only rewards!

We are asking guilds to come together to raise money for ovarian cancer research by submitting quilt blocks or completed quilts.

Donate quilt blocks for our Inspiration Guild Quilt, composed of quilt block donations from quilters nationwide, or send in completed quilts and make a dedication to someone touched by ovarian cancer.

Two Ways to Contribute:

A. Guilds may submit 12" x 12" quilt blocks made from at least 50% Blank Quilting fabric. Send as many blocks as you wish. For every block submitted, Blank Quilting will donate $1.00 to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.

B. Guilds may submit 108" x 108" completed quilts made from at least 50% Blank Quilting fabric. For every quilt donated Blank Quilting will donate $200.00 to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, and the guild may dedicate the completed quilt to someone touched by ovarian cancer.

All finished quilts will be auctioned to raise even more money for The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.

The Coastal Quilters of Northeast Florida have completed an entire Inspiration Quilt dedicated to ovarian cancer survivor and quilter Anita Galeani.

About Anita

Anita Galeani is both an ovarian cancer survivor and a quilter. She is an active member and past president of the Coastal Quilters of Northwest Florida.

She was diagnosed with stage 3 level 2 ovarian cancer in May 2003. She underwent major cancer surgeries in May 2003 and May 2005. She has done continuous chemotherapy treatment the entire time since being diagnosed to try to keep this aggressive disease in check.

She would like everyone to know that her only symptom was bloating. Please continue yearly check-ups to help diagnose this disease at an early stage when it is curable.

Aside from her family and friends, quilting and sewing have been her sanity through the entire fight. She can actually become so involved at her machine that the chemo side effects seem to disappear. She has enjoyed making quilts for her home, friends and charity and will continue her fight while quilting.

Coastal Quilters has donated 81 blocks in her honor, enough to make an entire quilt. These are made up entirely of the the teal Inspiration fabric line. As many patients, Anita identifies with the teal fabric and has also made an inspirational quilt for the chemotherapy suite that she visits on a regular basis.

Guilds who donate complete quilts will be featured here at the Guild Patch along with their dedication.
